雖然球隊目前仍沒有整合到大家所期望的「夢幻球隊」之姿，但是NBA巨星Stephen Curry創造話題的能力可一點都沒有退步，他近日在微博上公開邀請張繼科，希望兩人能來一場桌球大戰，引起了廣大中國網民的熱烈討論，有不少人期待各自領域的霸主能來一場精采的比賽，但也有人回應Curry，要他別多想，先把三分手感找回來再說。
雖然「帝國絕兇虎」張繼科在里約奧運桌球男子單打決賽敗給馬龍，無緣衛冕，而且目前仍因傷所苦，無法比賽，但是以他的身手，仍是現役桌球單打的最強點之一，Curry雖然桌球打得不錯，但挑的這個對手也太強悍了一點，也難怪在中國新聞網做的調查呈現一面倒的情況。
有網友表示，「Curry先取得三連勝，再拿個三個總冠軍再說吧。你看張繼科一直在拿冠軍啊。」這句話所說不假，中國桌球在世界的水平可說是接近逢戰百勝，而張繼科目前在大陸國內除了馬龍外，也沒有其他選手能夠明顯壓制他，個人榮譽更是已經拿到手軟，可說是代表著男子桌球最高水平的球員之一。
而Curry近日在出戰湖人的比賽中，三分球10投盡墨，例行賽連續196場投中三分球的紀錄就此中斷，而好兄弟Klay Thompson更慘，還一度是聯盟三分球命中率的爐主，球隊目前也僅4勝2敗，為達賽前各界的預期，無怪乎有人還是希望Curry先想辦法解決球隊目前困境，帶領勇士隊找到贏球之鑰比較重要。
